Our Story
CAFE ARBOQUIN was born on a hillside farm nestled in the Mesa Alta, Ramal de Bolinillo district of Filandia, Quindío—a land known for its volcanic soil, lush microclimate, and generous rainfall. At 1,500 meters above sea level, our coffee cherries ripen slowly, absorbing the richness of the land and developing flavor complexity with sweet caramel, panela, almond, and floral notes.
Our farm is more than a place—it’s a legacy. Passed down through generations, we’ve preserved rustic milling methods while embracing modern roasting science to deliver excellence in every lot. The result? A specialty coffee with balance, acidity, and character that speaks of Colombia’s best.
-
At ARBOQUIN COFFEE, we cultivate a carefully selected trio of coffee varieties:
Cenicafé 1: A modern Colombian variety, resistant to rust and known for its consistency and high yield, while still offering a sweet, clean cup.
Caturra: A traditional favorite with excellent cup quality, known for its balanced body, citrus brightness, and chocolatey notes.
Catimor: A hybrid bred for strength, offering floral aromas and a smooth, mellow acidity.
Together, they bring complexity, resilience, and character to every harvest.
-
Grown at 1,500 meters above sea level, our coffee develops slowly, allowing sugars and acids to intensify. This high-altitude environment contributes to refined acidity, pronounced sweetness, and a dense bean structure ideal for specialty roasting.
-
Filandia's unique meso-Andean climate—with consistent rainfall, misty mornings, and fertile volcanic soil—creates optimal growing conditions. This environment enriches the cup with layered flavors, from panela sweetness to almond and citrus undertones.
-
Our harvest is conducted selectively by hand, choosing only fully ripened cherries. This artisanal method ensures that every bean represents the full expression of its variety, with bright fruitiness, smooth texture, and a lingering aftertaste.
-
We combine rustic milling traditions with modern drying and fermentation controls. This hybrid approach protects the coffee’s terroir while maximizing clarity and consistency—essential for specialty buyers and private label clients.
-
Each cup is a celebration of Colombia’s heritage and innovation. Expect a balanced profile with:
